PRODUCT REVIEW : Borosil Primus Juicer

This is going to be my FIRST EVER PRODUCT REVIEW so, pardon me for errors here and there.

Borosil Primus Juicer

One day at home, I was having fun while trying my hand at cooking Seafood Risotto when I received a call from FBAI (Food Bloggers Association of India) asking if I would be interested in doing a product review as I have been associated with food reviewing since quite a time.

So, without any second thoughts I was a total happy yes and then got to know that the product is a Borosil Primus Juicer to which, my first reaction was jittery with cold hands since , I have never ever operated any juicer before in my life and writing about the same is way beyond my imagination.

Then I pulled my self together, gained my senses back and took it as a first time challenge and said a big "YES".

Few days, I got a call from my mother saying there's a big box delivered at our address from Borosil, realizing that Ops! I haven't informed my mom and asked her not to unbox it.

After I told my mother everything about my new feather in the cap of reviewing, she had her doubts on this young, never used any kitchen appliance son of hers to which I assured her and myself that, "Everything is new if you keep moving forward"..

Talking about this juicer when it comes to the looks, I'd say that we did have an old juicer that does not look that much fancy, appealing and so beautiful and classy as Borosil Primus Juicer and I'm sure if utensils and aplliances could speak they would have definitely said, "Dude I'm jealous of you !"

The Borosil Primus Juicer is a beautiful combination of durable plastic and metallic body and the base theme of black and silver is selected to fit in every kitchen very smartly and unlike other Juicer's, it has those drooling tough guy looks!

To be precise I was taking it up as a pride and a very manly thing and I do not agree that cooking and making drinks is only a women's job at home. Seriously speaking, a lot of my female friends agreed that they love the man who can cook and get a beautiful glass of fresh fruit juice for them in the morning ;)

Well leaving womanly dreams behind, Coming back to the topic. As a reviewer I really wanted to test this product on every aspect that was written on its BIG BOX but, there are 5 most important aspects that I really tested this product on. So, Lets see how this turned out to be as listed the real review below :

Test 1 : 500W Powerful Motor

Checking the measure of its electric motor on the appliance itself as at the box it says that it has a powerful 500W motor so looked at the plugs and the switches and confirmed the same and it was definitely the powerful motor as I asked about the same from a local electrician to which he replied that it is precisely not the most powerful juicer motor as nowadays juicer also comes in 100 watts motor but those are the commercial ones but for a simple household 500W is more than enough for a juicer. So, Test 1 APPROVED!

Test 2 : Dual Switch Operation for Extra Safety.

Yes, it was correct it has two switches operation labeled as level I and level II and obviously as the label suggest on Level I the speed is a bit slow depending upon which fruit juice one is trying to take out and the second one is Level II which means maximum speed and taking out juices for soft fruits like oranges in few seconds. So, it was quite convenient for me not to go techie and simply have to twist the Borosil Primus Juicer Knob to Level II. So, Test 2 APPROVED!

Test 3 : Anti Drip option for juice outlet nozzle.

There is a feature in the Juice Outlet nozzle that my mother was happy to see too, that once you've taken out the juice there are a lot of instances that even after you finish off then still juice keeps on dripping drop by drop but, in Borosil Primus Juicer one can twist the nozzle upside after you finish taking off juice or you want to add more fruits and you go to grab some in the mean time, you just have to twist the nozzle upside and here you go! Simple but Smart addition here. Test 3 APPROVED!

Test 4 : Light in Weight and Compact Size.

Well, to be very true I have realized that the juicer was light weight and Compact Size while I was unboxing the main unit. It is indeed light weight which is definitely a plus point as in Indian kitchens one have no fixed space for these appliances and in a lot of places one may have to regularly shift it here and there near to the power point. So, it was quite a good thing that Borosil has kept in their mind before creating their final product for a household consumer. Test 4 APPROVED!

Test 5 : Extra Large Feeding Tube

Yes, It does had an extra large 64 mm feeding tube and I experienced that myself as I took out 4 glass of juice without stopping the process and most importantly without any mess around as the waste product was kept on getting collected in this feeding tube and does not impact any juicing quality. Test 5 APPROVED!

Final Verdict :

My Final Verdict shall be that this is a very user friendly product that fulfills its every claimed aspect and keeps up to the consumers expectation that definitely one may never be disappointed using Borosil Primus Juicer and hence it is a very good and useful must have appliance in the Indian households and obviously a very good option as compared to those old and heavy juicer machines.

The rest that is left is been taken care of Borosil Primus Juicer's killer looks.. Cause ultimately what catches the heart first is the Appearance....

My Rating would be a bang on 4.5 out of 5 Stars and definitely a must buy product for every household cause surely you'll fall in love after using Borosil Primus Juicer..

BOROSIL PRIMUS JUICER ROCKS! ARE YOU READY TO IMPRESS???

Wheelyz, Ashok Vihar

The Wheelyz was an outlet that was recommended by a very old school friend as he stays in Ashok Vihar. It was the same day when I was about to attend Chef Kunal Kapoor's event. Frankly speaking, I was not that much excited for that event as much as I was excited for being here at Wheelyz. My friend told me that Wheelyz have 2 to 3 food trucks/wagons as well as they have an outlet where we could sit peacefully and chat over food. As we were not able to get an ample of parking space we all friends decided to be at their Ashok Vihar Phase 2 outlet so that we can sit and enjoy the food served hot on our table.

How To Reach?

To be there at the outlet the best way is fro your own vehicle. But, if you do not have any vehicle then you may simply get down to Model Town Metro Station and from there you can get an auto and they shall charge you only 40 bucks and will take you directly to the restaurant.

Food

* Crispy Tandoori Chaap : This was like any other basic tandoori chaap and have a very juicy and chatpata flavor to it. Adding on I don't know if I am right or not but, they top up their appetizers with their special chaat masala which give altogether a different dimension to them.

* Chicken Lollypop : Unlike other lolly's these were actually fried and certainly not to forget that they were very less in oil as I was getting no oil in my hand while chewing the individual pieces of them and again they were flavored with their special chaat masala

* Kurkuri Chaap : I would say that this was altogether a different variety or a version of chaap that I had. This was called as kurkuri chaap as it was almost tasting very close to a KFC famous chicken. But, it was not. as it was my vegetarian version of KFC which I shall recommend to my every vegetarian friend.

* Kurkure Paneer Momo's : Again, that was something which was my personal favorite as I never had moms like these in my entire life again made and fried like KFC style but was again different. I seriously wont be able to explain it well for the first time and shall recommend all of you to visit the restaurant and have it on your own.

* Mutton Ball : These were just like a meat balls but again you can simply guess the freshness when you take the first bite. and to be very true their price is very nominal or I shall simply say in budget or economical that one may be very shocked to know that in a portion where you will get approximately 8 pieces with the fresh mint chutney and onion slices it only cost 120 Rupees All incl. Taxes. So, definitely in budget for every student living around the area.

* Non - Veg Platter : Their Non- Platter is the best for all those who wants to get a sneak peek for all of their non veg dishes and would be the best thing for a foodie like me. :)

Mains

In the mains I would say that you can have almost anything that you may like. But again I would stronly recommend you their thali's. What I really loved about their thali's is that if I talk about the Vegetarian Thali is a star for their taste as you will get a tasty delight of Dal Makhani, Home Style Shahi Paneer, Salad, Raita, Rice, Naan or parantha. But, if we particularly talk only about the non veg thali then I am first time surprised to know that their non veg thali have 2 varieties of non veg dishes as well as other things unlike other places which serve one non veg dish and one veg dish.

Final Verdict :

The place is highly recommended because of their awesome food variety and the only thing of concern is that in their restaurant there is not much space to sit. But, If we talk about the overall package I would love to rate this place as 4.5 Stars out of 5 Stars and a must visit place.

Cafe Public Connection, Connaught Place

Cafe Public Connection was in my list from the day very first day. All that I heard was that I would be all together a different themed restaurants and by only listening to that i was very excited that I had already decided that I will be there for sure for a review. So, Here I was finally to review them.

How To Reach?

Reaching Cafe Public Connection is not a tough task at all as it is located in Connaught Place (CP) and to reach CP its not tough at all even if you're very new in city or from abroad. The best way to be here for everyone would be through metro if you do not have your own conveyance. You just simply have to board the metro from any of your nearby metro station and head towards Rajiv Chowk metro station. Once you're there at Rajiv Chowk Metro station then you simply have to locate F Block and there you are! This restaurant is in the very beginning of F Block and you could see big Black and White Hoarding written Cafe Public Connection that you can never miss. Frankly speaking, I didn't faced any difficulty while finding the place I am sure if you'll read my instructions above then you will be right on track! :)

Ambiance

Cafe Public connection is one of its kind themed restaurant in CP that I've seen so far. The main concept is to present different means of communication that has connected people so far starting Late 90s till now. The best part is that the restaurant is not based only on one particular theme but have loads of themes under one roof which is an experience on its own and not to be missed at all. They have different rooms or I shall say party rooms that you may reserve prior visiting the restaurant as these rooms are pretty much pre-booked and occupied as they're the center of attraction. They have rooms based on Sports theme, Bollywood, Hollywood etc. which has particular theme accordingly. at every corner you will see a different looks and shades that will never bore yo even if you've visited the restaurant many times. So, their ambiance is one of the best USP and something that needs to be experienced on your own.

Food & Drinks

If I talk about food, Cafe Public Connection serves more of a finger food and mostly North Indian as a basic cuisine. and if you pre-set your expectations accordingly before you visit then you'll never be upset as you'll get what you would have expected out of it.

Vegetarian

Paneer Tikka : It was good, Flavorful, accurate punjabi taste and flavor as a paneer tikka should have. Cottage cheese aka Paneer in hindi was soft and the appropriate marination of the masala was not making the bland paneer overpower anywhere in the dish which was very good to have and relish.

Chilly Mushroom : Chilly Mushroom was something that I'd recommend to every vegetarian as it was really very tasty and crispy and it was very close to Chilly chicken and for all those who cannot have it. It was really hot in spice. Would not like to say that it was very spicy but was not that much overpowering at all.

Cold Mezze Platter : This was again like any other mezze platter but, was fresh and cold unlike most of them. A lot of people say its a Cold Mezze platter but, they serve it in a room temperature. Which I really like in it.

Soya Seekh : This was the best Soya Seekh that I've ever had. Very moist and tender an on top of that it was really unbelievable that it was vegetarian as it does not let me any absence of a non veg seekh. Which would be a best quality in a Veg Seekh.

Non Vegetarian

Lasooni Chicken Tikka : This was a Chicken tikka but with a most prominent flavor of burnt garlic in it which was making this very tasty to have and the same time it was tender and cooked to perfection. The size of the tikka was appropriate and there would definitely be a repeat once you'll have a single serving.

Chilly Chicken : Nothing much to say an you may read the description of chilly mushroom that I've described above and all you gotta do is that you just have to replace mushroom with Chicken. :P

Fish Finger : It was something that everyone of us on the table relished and it landed up to our sweet cousins like fight among st each other fighting for the last piece of it. As a result of it we landed up again ordering second serving.

Mutton Seekh : As usual the mutton seekh was nothing something like "HATKE" but can;t be ignored too. The best seekh I've had so far was Cornish Seekh at Pamphilos but anyways it was a combination of mutton and chicken seekhs in one single bite but not comparing just wanted to canvey even if that was a dimple seek but it was actually fresh and made from their in house mutton mince.

Mains

In the mains to be very true I personally did not had any space left as I tried their Veg and non-veg starters a lot. But still as I wanted a feel over it then we ordered a Penne pasta in red sauce and Veg Biryani with Raita. Nothing much to say as I was stuffed like a teddy till then. and really loved the food even thought it was basic and more of a day to day North indian selection

Dessert

The dessert is the only thing that you always have an extra space even if you had food your belly burst out. We had Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream yes I agree that was something basic that I had but, couldn't help it as that wa sthe only dessert available in the menu. So, a bit disappointment over there.

Drinks

This is really a special section that I would like to mention as I really follow very few bartenders among Delhi's restaurant and one of them is Viju Raj. I finally had a chance to meet him at Cafe Public Connection. We really had a great time and he also made one of my favorite cocktail named, "Old Fashioned"a dn trust me I really loved it! I got that glass tasted to my other friends on the same table and they were so happy with its taste that I specially called up Viju so that we can say thanks to him. In return he said that he will do a pitcher of OLD FASHIONED specially for us and to my surprise when we got that pitcher we were amazed to see that it was so beautifully served in a Giant Silver Trophy which made our day and it was looking so good that before having it we all posed with that cocktail trophy and finally we departed after our heaviest Brunch for that day.

Final Verdict

This restaurant is a must try for its awesome environment and awesome cocktails that they do serve and if I talk about food then its good but so not expect a lot as it has a limited cuisine but, it really taste good and you would never have any complaints before you're leaving the restaurant. If I have to visit I am definitely checking in here!

Final Rating

4.5 out of 5 STARS
